Sumbarmaju.com | Solok Regency – SMPN 5 Gunung Talang has reaffirmed its commitment to improving educational quality by successfully organizing its 2026 Workshop themed “Innovating Together to Realize Quality Education”, held from June 9 to June 13, 2026.
The five-day program, conducted at SMPN 5 Gunung Talang in Koto Gaek Guguk, Solok Regency, brought together all teachers and education staff in a collaborative effort to enhance professional competence and strengthen innovative learning practices.
Throughout the workshop, participants received training and guidance on developing innovative teaching methods, preparing learning tools, and implementing strategies aimed at improving the overall quality of education.
Principal of SMPN 5 Gunung Talang, Arninorawati, S.Pd, stated that the workshop reflects the school's commitment to fostering a culture of innovation and continuous professional development among educators.
“Through this activity, we aim to enhance teachers' capacity to create learning experiences that are creative, engaging, and responsive to students' needs. Educators must continue to grow and adapt to meet the challenges of modern education,” she said on Wednesday (June 17, 2026).
According to Arninorawati, educational success is determined not only by adequate facilities and infrastructure but also by the quality of human resources who continuously innovate in the teaching and learning process.
Meanwhile, the Head of Junior High School Development Division at the Solok Regency Education, Youth and Sports Office, Dr. Masrul, M.Pd, praised the implementation of the workshop. He emphasized that such activities play a crucial role in enhancing teachers’ professionalism and ensuring sustainable improvements in educational quality.
“Teachers are at the forefront of shaping future generations. Therefore, competency development through workshops and professional training must continue so that innovative ideas can emerge and contribute to better learning outcomes,” he explained.
Dr. Masrul expressed hope that the knowledge and skills gained during the workshop would be effectively implemented in classrooms, leading to improved academic achievement and stronger character development among students.
With the successful completion of the workshop on June 13, 2026, SMPN 5 Gunung Talang has further strengthened its commitment to delivering quality education.
